Our good friends 6’10 from Chicago are coming down to Kansas City on Sunday (12/13/15). Is 6’10 new to you? Perhaps you’ve heard of Flatfoot 56? This is their side-project. Not Ben Shin is coming in from Omaha and Simbelmynë will be rocking as well. This will be a great way to end the year for Destroy Nate Allen. This is the rare show that just about anyone will love. I recommend you come out. It’s all-ages, kid friendly, folk and punk positive all in one happy package. What more could you want?
Here is some more info about the bands.
6’10 is the Americana side-project of Flatfoot 56 singer Tobin Bawinkle. I believe the humble beginning of a rovin’ soul is his best collection songs to date. Topically these songs showcase a reflective side of Tobin often masked by the loads of Flatfoot 56 distortion. These songs roll around in my head quite often and warm my heart.

Not Been Shin AKA Jimmy Hobbs is a fine gentleman from the wheat-filled state of Nebraska. He’s one of the most inspirational songwriters I know packing a keen whit and well packaged honesty. He songs are highly personal, political and revolutionary often in the same breath.
Here is Not Ben Shin covering Don’t Sit Next To Me Just Because I’m Asian by Mike Park.
Simbelmynë are an indie rock band from Kansas City in the vein of Manchester Orchestra, Sigur Ros, and The Promise Ring. Here is the video for their song Mountains.
